Although intangible, the physical environment of the college or university campus makes a statement about the institution’s values and it establishes a sense of place for students, faculty and alumni. As institutions grow and change, they are often faced with hard decisions about how to adapt historic buildings to meet modern demands. As preservation architects, our goal is to work with our college and university clients to promote campus growth that is sensitive to the historic resources and promotes stewardship within the institution.
