Savannah College of Art and Design
Residence Hall & Sculpture Studio
Atlanta, GA
This building, at the Atlanta campus Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), was designed by Renzo Piano, in collaboration with Lord Aeck Sargent.
It includes a residence hall and sculpture building. Glass facades are used along the perimeter of the campus, providing visitors with a look at art-making and other museum activities. This includes the SCAD's bronze casting studio, where molten metal is poured and set for sculpture.
Access to the MARTA transit station, located on the edge of campus, is incorporated into the exterior design thereby facilitating the use of public transportation.
