Lord Aeck Sargent is providing the master plan and architectural design for a new mixed-use development on a brownfield site near Richmond.
Mayo Island, which overlooks downtown Richmond, is master planned to include two residential-retail buildings, a corporate office tower, and a hotel with conference facilities.
The “town center,” located at the east end of the island, will comprise over 200,000 gsf of industrial loft-style residential units, 40,000 sf of street-level retail and a 230-room hotel and conference center. The “business center” will include a commercial tower comprising 250,000 sf of office space and 13,000 sf of in-line retail located at the west end of the island.
Amenities will include restaurants, boutiques, clubroom, fitness center, a park with city views and a convenient pedestrian bridge connecting to the city. In addition, a mix of surface and structured parking is planned to accommodate both residents and visitors.
