Valdosta State University Campus Master Plan
Valdosta, GA
Following the adoption of new guidelines calling for improved efficiency in space utilization throughout the University System of Georgia, Lord Aeck Sargent and its academic planning consultant, Dober Lidsky Mathey, were engaged to produce a new campus master plan for Valdosta State.
The plan focused on the following:
- Consolidating core academic and student service functions to enhance the student experience while improving operational efficiency
- Improving existing campus facilities, particularly in Music, Theater and Fine Arts, to meet academic needs through a series of renovations of and relocations within existing buildings
- Increasing connectivity between disparate sections of the campus to create a more unified whole
One of the first master plans of its kind within the University System of Georgia, the plan will serve as a model for other campuses within the system and was presented at the Georgia Association of Physical Plant Administrators (GAPPA) conference in 2015.
